RE/MAX of Nanaimo Marketing Assistant/ Digital Marketing
For 4.5 years of working with an in-house marketing team, it is safe to say that I have learned many firsts, real working experiences in this organization, teaming up with very high-calibered and well-experienced individuals.
I have started the job as an International Intern in 2018. I remember clearly knocking on each door of the building to introduce myself to 150+ REALTORS. “Hi my name is Marisa Rosli, I am an International Intern working with Agent Services Department. Nice meeting you, is there any chance I can get your business card so I can memorize your name?” and up to this day, I have made quite few friends among the REALTORS not just in Nanaimo, but also in Victoria, BC.
Closer to completing my internship with RE/MAX, I knew I need to do something extra ordinary to be able to stay working permanently in the organization, I have created a niche for myself like pioneering the market stats graphic as a tool for REALTORS to use during their Comperative Marketing Analysis with clients.
I was also able to forecast budget and show Charlie (owner of RE/MAX of Nanaimo) my 6 months plans to be able to make this never-existed “job position” to work. I remember feeling intimidated showing him the plan during our one-on-one meeting that day, but it worked on my favour, and CharlieĀ had created this Marketing job position for me. Yes, he did create this job position specially for me. Most importantly, he believed in me and of course, I want to make sure his decision was worth it!
Market Stats
I’ve started this job with just basic design skill sets on my first few months, but always coming up with new ideas and suggestions since my bloodstream has always been marketing. I am proactive and ready to collaborate when it comes to teamwork. I seek the utmost solutions until there’s none left, asking ALOT of design questions to our graphic designers and always checking with my supervisor to make sure I was on the right track and making wise decisions on behalf of the team.
First I was in it with a beginner bike with training wheels, and few months later training wheels were off! I’ve learned plethora of skill sets from this job position and from these wonderful people in my team first-hand. From this job as well, I am able to create beautiful work and each day passing by that I was creating and designing, I have realized my skill, eye for details and picking colour palette for each brands have improved. Not just that, I gained the trust fully to decide on decisions that once my supervisor had to make at the very beginning!

I was also incharged of RE/MAX of Nanaimo, RE/MAX Camosun and RE/MAX Property Management and Rentals‘ Facebook and Instagram and I also was incharged of at least 10 of the REALTORS’ social pages in Vancouver Island. I enjoyed creating them and had given a trust to make their page beautiful and consistently full of great content- mostly during seasonal time that I can explore many options to my design skills to create their social cover page, their marketing campaign etc.
My job description has increased exponentially from just basic designing for market stats to social media and had branches off to creating internal and external digital newsletter and video editing for the brokerages and REALTORS.
The team also initiated weekly zoom tutorial during pandemic sharing and educating marketing related topics and tools that our team know and use. I was one of the key people to speak every week and had to come up with interesting digital marketing topics to share that can be useful for REALTORS to use on their day-to-day basis!
